The Best Family Staycation In Singapore for 2020

The list of top 7 hot spots for a staycation in Singapore to pamper yourself and your loved one is here!

Funny trivia – the very first time I encountered term “staycation” was only when I moved to South East Asia 7 years ago and as a regular answer that I got from my local buddies when I asked what are their plans for the weekend was – “I’m taking my girl for a staycation.”

At first I was I was going like “Stay…WHAT?”, then I was “But…WHY!”

And then eventually after deciding that “staycation” must be an Asian thing, I came to the conclusion that “Actually why not!”.

Because after all, who doesn’t like to pamper himself/herself from time to time without hassle and bustle of packing and travelling.

But for those who don’t know….

What does Staycation means?

It’s predominantly couple activity popular especially in Asia when people book a weekend stay in a fancy or romantic hotel or resort villa in their own city.

The intention is to relax, take a break from work and do – well, nothing. That’s why many people choose stays that besides beautiful hotel offers also some additional pampering services such as spa, massage or all-inclusive dining and a mandatory pool.

So whether you are a regular staycation-er or you’re just starting out, here’s the list of top staycation destinations in Singapore and their major perks!

1 Soak In Salty Sunset Breeze At Beach Villas by Resort World Sentosa

This is place is the absolute top for a romantic getaway with your better half or even quality time spent with your family.

As the name suggests, you get your own private villa with a pool overlooking the sunset side of the beachfront – and nobody will argue that there’s nothing better than catching a sunset while sipping on a glass of well-cooled gin & tonic from the comfort of your private suite.

This place is renowned for the great design and excellent butler service.

If you’re looking for a staycation in Singapore that will treat you like royalty, this is the place.

THE BEST:

  • Private Jacuzzi
  • 24h Butler Service
  • Aquarium View from a bedroom of Ocean Suite
  • Location – right next door from Universal Studios Singapore
  • It’s quiet and serene garden of Eden!

2 Escape To Garden of Eden at Capella Singapore

Another gem of a getaway if you are up for a quiet couple staycation in Singapore.

The place is tucked away in the midst of lush greenery while still receiving a salty breeze from the nearby beachfront.

The whole place has a subtle colonial vibe tastefully combining contemporary architecture.

Dominated by a large pool that always makes you feel like you own it. That is if you ever leave the jacuzzi in your room overviewing the ocean.

It’s also a very family friendly place thanks to extremely spacious rooms and nearby Universal Studio and other Sentosa attractions.

THE BEST:

  • Secluded location surrounded by greenery and next to beachfront, while still easily accessible
  • Jacuzzi with an ocean view
  • Cozy & Spacious Rooms
  • Private mini-pool in suites

3 Relive The Old Time Glory At Raffles Hotel

If you are looking for a staycation in Singapore that is in the centre of it all – Raffles Hotel is the place.

There couldn’t be a more exclusive and central location than the neighborhood of Marina Bay.

The whole narrative of this place is ‘old-fashioned glory’.

And being one of the oldest hotels in Singapore, it comes to no surprise. Whole place breaths inside out with nostalgia. But even though the architecture is old, amenities and conditions of the place are excellent, just like its 5 Star service.

It’s a rather bit more formal kind of stay comparing to others, but if you are up to experience a real vintage high class, this might be the place.

THE BEST:

  • Authentic colonial architecture
  • Excellent service
  • Central location
  • Spacious high ceiling rooms
